Pat Capocci is a legendary local Newcastle rockabilly guitarist, whose unique raw rockabilly style and energetic live performances have made Pat a renown Australian rockabilly attraction.
Our plan was to create Pat a website that would allow Pat to keep contact with his fan base, promote gigs, provide audio tracks/video performances and to also advertise available recordings/merchandise. One particular interesting aspect of the development of this project was the implementation of Typekit (an Open Type font foundry) to heading styles. This gave us a chance to experiment with the advantages and limitations of this technology (albeit in its early stages).
In terms of design, Pat wanted a website design that combined a modern feel influenced by traditional styles of 50's/60's Rockabilly gig posters. This was a great challenge for us, and we thouroughly enjoyed researching all movie and gig posters/flyers from yesteryear.
